About Us

Our Founding Story

Code In Color came to life in 2018, after our founder, Karen Rodriguez La Paz, was featured on Netflix’s “The Kindness Diaries”, a show that catapulted Code In Color’s creation. Growing up in the Bronx, a New York City borough, Karen learned at an early age that educational inequality propagates a cycle of poverty, and a lack of self value and desire for educational advancement. With more than 70% of Bronx residents lacking access to the internet and proper technological education, Karen set out to build an organization that would enrich the lives of minorities who struggle to reach their potential by breaking into the digital economic sphere.

At Code In Color, our vision is to create rich, affordable, and standardized education and experience to support economically advantageous futures while improving diversity within the tech space.
